This has calmed down immensely since my last encounter with it about a year ago. At that point it was too tightly wound, with bracing acidity. Now, the ‘16 is drinking beautifully, with loads of dark berry fruit (think blueberry and purple flowers). Medium+ in body, and a seamless texture. Glug this up.

Fairly typical of RRV Pinots. Fruit forward and a bit extracted, offset by good acidity and smooth finish. Immensely drinkable. My second favorite of the evening.

Drank with Christmas dinner 2024, with honey baked ham, and brown sugar sweet potatoes. Russian River Valley Pinot goes really well with ham. This one was really good. With and without food. Fruit forward but doesn’t overwhelm the wine. Buy more.
