Bacci Wines
Renieri Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese
Having with a ribeye. Bought a year ago so has been aging a year. Perhaps it went bad sitting for a year but when I opened it, the aroma was pleasant. However when drinking it, swirling it, letting it warm & air further, this wine is at least a 7 point over rating by James Suckling. Yeah, his name starts with Suck and he’s well known for overrating wines apparently to help wineries sell any swill.

Jan 25th, 2023Buttery toasty cherry in the nose.
Very sour, earthy notes. Not as full bodied as I'd expect. Definitely medium bodied with a medium finish.

Very nice Rossi, not all the way to Brunello but certainly on the path. Very nice value

Oct 2nd, 2021Light red fruit, some blackberry, plenty of cedar aroma. Light tobacco notes, too. Well structured, but still a bit tight even after decanting.

May 21st, 2021Light color / garnet. Typical Sangiovese nose. A dead ringer for a Chianti Classico. Pretty for a Rosso.
