Oh heart b still, highly aromatic, roses cinnamon, integrated tannins. This is a sweet spot in mountain Nebbiolo. Beguiling.

sultry spices on the nose is inviting, but the tart fruit laying over the savory notes turns sour quickly

2006 Magnum. Nice tobacco and licorice elements and good acidity, but lacking fruit. Finish is on the bitter side. Was expecting more from this one.

Had my last bottle of this a couple weeks ago and I was very pleasantly surprised. Decanted first a bit over 1 hour, it smelled and tasted noticeably younger than a 2009 from another producer. It had nice dried fruit, plenty of acidity and balance. It also didn’t have much of any orange/brown coloring in the glass. I say I was surprised because other bottles of the 2006 I’ve opened over the last few years have unfortunately showed a bit more age. Maybe it’s finally in the zone?

Broad, bright fruit and balanced acidity, moderate tannins. Truly a pleasure. Perhaps more length, but otherwise fantastic.
