Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee and this was a special treat as not only was Weston from Montagu Wines in attendance, but Jason Moore, owner and winemaker for Modus Operandi Wines out of Napa. Blind format as always. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert.
Very good, but more guessed left bank Bordeaux. Could tell this was the oldest wine on the table. It held up well, and had lovely notes of oiled leather, plum, dried cranberries and even a black truffle note. Outdone by red #2 though.

Apr 18th, 2018Solid but not particularly exciting. A bit of reductive CO2 on the nose and initial palate entry. With air more classic aromas come up; tar, graphite, floral notes, a big of pruny/dried fruits. Maybe this needs more time?

Jun 14th, 2015For a wine sixteen years old, it is disappointing. But overall, it's ok: leather, liquorice, mint, silky tannins, nice acidity.

Jul 26th, 2023Softens up with time in the glass. Lots of great floral, some off putting candied aromas and isoamyle acetate.
