Sarmassa Barolo Nebbiolo

Classic style. Color is on the lighter side, showing a little amber at the rim, but the nose is quite vigorous. It shows sappy, macerated cherry (with a slight sour note), deep spice and gravel. Full flavors on the mouth, with nice transparency and deep, clingy cherry and leather flavors, nice acids and still a good whack of tannin. Can age a few years more but delicious now.

The best Barolo I’ve been able to get at Costco. Higher price than their usual but based on the quality it’s a great value. Traditional style - young with lots of years to go. Nose with dark rose and earth. Right with tan is on opening h but opened some within a couple hours. Palate is earth forward with tobacco undergrowth mineral balanced with blackbery dark cherry. Long mouth tingling finish.

Bonkers good. Similar to previous with more integrated tannins. Amazing with food. Dried cherries, dried herbs, minerals, leather, so freaking good. We drank this fast!

Wow. More fruit forward than expected. Dried strawberries, viole and roses on nose. Cherry with bracing acidity. Big, tight tannins. Perfect with pork saltimbocca and pasta pomodoro.

Brick color, a ton of flowers, bark, dried cherries, dried herbs, very complex. Insanely good with Italian Easter dinner. Needs more time. I opened for 4 hours and it is still pretty tannic and young.
