Dec 4th, 2016Its hard to find old school style (for me, this means like they were in 71, 74, or 78) Barolo these days. This is one, though it's more in the feminine side, not the macho tarry style. Surprisingly light color, beautiful fragrance: moist earth, old leather, macerated choke cherries, a whiff of spice. Lean at first, but then the power kicks in. Loads of minerally cherries and old barrel flavors. Very nice. ($24.99 from wtso.com several months back in Dec. 2014)
