Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo

2007; A little hot, but good fruit.

Drink up! At its peak. Lots of secondary and tertiary aromas. Nice tho, if early maturing.

Its hard to find old school style (for me, this means like they were in 71, 74, or 78) Barolo these days. This is one, though it's more in the feminine side, not the macho tarry style. Surprisingly light color, beautiful fragrance: moist earth, old leather, macerated choke cherries, a whiff of spice. Lean at first, but then the power kicks in. Loads of minerally cherries and old barrel flavors. Very nice. ($24.99 from wtso.com several months back in Dec. 2014)

Took a surprisingly long decant. Sweet dried fruit and florals

Cannubi fruit and sarmassa too. Ruby red fruit, high acidity, eucalyptus all primary, some secondary notes too. One hour decant.

Gorgeous garnet color. No sediment. A little tight at first then opens up into a truly elegant wine. Body on the lighter side of medium. Might not stand up to red meat.

Very pleasant, and a nice value. Strawberries, sweet dried fruit, roses, and a hint of balsamic. Open-knit and ready to enjoy now.

2004 vintage, pure, classic, intense and smooth!
