Nose shows dried cherry and dried roses (traditional) and menthol (untraditional). Also some baking spice and dry gravel. Earthy choke-cherry brandy flavors along with some harsh barrel notes. A bit hot on the finish. Still quite a bit of tannin to resolve. Definitely a winter weight wine. I may have done it and myself wrong by opening it in summer.

A very soft-textured but intensely flavorful Barolo. Lots of dried roses, some tarry notes, and a whiff of menthol overlay some bitter cherry liqueur fruit. Broad and rich in the mouth, with some woody barrel notes just a bit stronger than the dark cherry fruit. Some warm gravelly, brickish minerality. Still a bit of tannin left, but the acidity is low and there's a little heat in the finish, so I'd drink these up over the next 2 years. (Also, it peaked after about an hour in the decanter, another hint about its limited future.)

Quite rich & full, with the full tannic grip. Dried cherries, some bacon & smoke and a whiff of iodine. Good acidity and a touch of harsh alc in the end. A solid Barolo with muscle.

Cigar wrapper and menthol on the nose. Blackberry and black licorice on the palette.

Soft, well- balanced with limited tannins and good fruit. Drinking well now. Decanted for an hour and a half. Tom, still feminine style. Delicious with the homemade lasagne.
