Noi Barolo Nebbiolo

I’ve had several of this producer’s Barolos and, like this one, they always seem to display an unusual combination of light color and intense tannins. This one has a pleasant nose of rose petal and dried cherry, but an astringent note foreshadows the tannins to come. A big whack of cherry on the palate immediate gives way to astringency, unfortunately. Not a wine to enjoy without food, I’m hoping it will be more in its element when the dinner is ready.

Great primary fruit, medium body, ruby/garnet color.

light but nice and smooth. can only imagine what this will be like in years to come. under $30 from lastbottle
