Ovello Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Haven’t had in 5 years. Glorious nose of roses, dark plum, dark cherry, sauvage, and smoke. Palate is intense with rocking sweet fruit and ripe but substantial tannins and unreal fruit squeeze. Big wine but really pulls it off and is delicious. Needs air but man is it fantastic.

Outstanding nose. Tar, roses, rubber on the road, spice and crazy florals. Wow that nose goes to 11. Actually a 9.6. Stunning aromas and so much breadth. Wood shavings. Just insane. Almost a 9.7 nose. Palate is majorly serious with furry yet velvety tannins and needs major air to calm down and come together but it is all there. A magnificent wine. I will be back. Tannins are so velvety and the fruit is so sweet but man is this brooding. Okay. Wow this got amazing with air. 9.4 to 9.5. Huge sweet fruit, Velvety tannins and insane midpalate.

Nose is very expressive with tar, roses and big time cherries and also cherry flower. Minerals and wood shavings. Clay? Gorgeous wild mint and major road tar. Really complex and expressive nose. Palate is juicy and clean. Elegant and compact. Lovely intensity but never heavy. Good concentration. Nice velvety tannins and very grippy. Long finish. Could use a few more years but wanted to check in. With air this has gotten so lovely. Sweet, silky, velvety and lovely mid season cherry attack. Amazingly pure and balanced. 9.3 to 9.4.

Dark and brooding nose. Floral as well. Mineral. Savory. Dynamite cherry. Terrific lift. Expansive. Big, rich, ripe and young with terrific energy and snap. Big, imposing but elegant tannins. Massive levels of dank cherry fruit. Really deep, powerful and concentrated. So mineral. This is awesome. Holds its 15.0 alcohol like a champ. Wow. This really is mouth coating. So young but insane promise here. A regular baby Beethoven.

Fantastic wine. Needs many years. Almost port like characteristics the next day. Tons of sediment. Incredible value. Check in 5 years again. This will make me revisit Nebbiolo again. Shared in La Paz Mexico with a friend.

Nose: sweet sexy blackberry. Earth.

Palate: sweet. Blackberry. Blackber y licorice. Delicious.

As this opens more serious. Library dust. Earth. Les tutti fruit and more contemplative.

P: Acidity and tannins, big chocolate finish, deliciousness.
