2012. Well balanced, peppery. Needs a half hour to open up its fullness.

Another outstanding wine from the excellent 2012 vintage. Although slightly fresher than the warmer 2011 vintage, this wine offers also a lush Brunello style. Loads if fruit and spice, and a finish that goes on and on. Truly delicious now, will be even better in the coming years.

Eight years later and still fresh tannins. I was expecting smoother and richer. Dry and balanced just lacking the sophistication I was looking forward to.

Finally got somewhere on its third night open.
Earthy, lush red fruit with some tobacco notes. Nice finish.

Red fruit, like cherries. Earth tones and a little woodiness, but cedar more than oak. A vegetal note in there. Took a LONG time to open and get rid of an awkward, bitterly tannic hint.

Took an hour or two to open up. Nice light red color. Still some tannins. Was perfect with young Muscovy duck.

Yes yes a fine drink with just enough brightness to go with the aroma and deep rich flavors. Earthy while offering a nice tartness and only the slightest texture of remaining tannins.

Mid-ranged, classic Brunello picked up at Costco for $28.99. Floral with high-pitched dark cherries and red plum, charred herbs, forest floor and dried tobacco leaves. Structurally, this wine had moderate plus acidity, moderate tannins and moderate length of finish. Great QPR on this wine and it paired well with a pan seared New York Strip with garlic, rosemary and thyme.

Dark cherry and earthy notes on the nose. Same on the tongue but with tannins in the driver's seat! Loved it for the price!
