Ripe and very cherry nose. Mint. Herbal. Tar. Ripe and a bit tomatoey. Inner mouth ripeness. Too ripe. But good structure.

A bit hard, clunky and lacking in focus.

At Stefano’s: The wine was well aged. The tannins were silky with notes of dried red fruit, leather, baking spices, and vanilla.

Nytår

A decent Barolo. Still tight and required a couple of hours to open up even after aerating. Old oak, bright red fruits, and leather on the nose. Deeper red cherry, cedar, and some anise on the palate, Not as elegant as other Barolos but still a good wine for the vintage.

Wonderfully elegant. Eat with a nice plate of Taglierin al ragu.
