Campass Barbera d'Alba

Bigger, fleshier style. Deep black cherry, chocolate, plum, and spice. Round.

Powerhorse. Ripe and soft tannins, loads of dark fruit, herbs and liquorice. Easy drinking at the moment. Single vineyard bottling, for 50% aged in new Frenck oak (but luckily it doesn't really show).

Taste as good as a great quality Barbaresco. Lush bramble fruit with nice tannins and weight.

dfp ~$35, v rich tannic mid body, blackberry

Big fruit. Has a Napa Cab vibe. Underwhelmed.

I want the smaller version. Components are good but abv is too high (15%). Need more time to get acquainted.

Expressive aromas of black cherry, red plums, and sweet tobacco with spiced oak and plenty acid. Texture of milk chocolate.

Great barbera. Unexpected surprise..

Forget what you know about Barbera and forget what you know about wine. The BEST Barbera out there. Structured and potent. Putin drank this wine before the Ukraine annexation.
