Clear garnet with gem-like highlights. Inviting nose of violets and black tea. Palate is medium full bodied and echoes the nose adding black cherry from entry and a bit of tar on the lingering finish. Well structured with assertive (but not aggressive) medium plus tannins and medium plus acidity. A Langhe that portends what’s to come when the 2019 twins of Barolo and Barbaresco are released in a few years. It’s already an excellent match for for hearty beef and pork dishes, but priced so that you can take it to the pizzeria or upscale your take out. I can’t wait for the big boys either, but enjoy this now through 2029 or so.

Still delicious after 17 years. Leather, tar, dried rose petal, tart dried cherry and licorice.

This is just so good. Amazing color. Translucent ruby. So alluring, elegant, bit of structure picks as it opens. Punches so far above its weight

Lighter style Nebbiolo. Very earthy with some funk; dried red fruit too

Fruit seemed lacking. Medium tannins. Just not very interesting…

Very tamed for a young nebbiolo. Tannins still a little harsh but quite smooth drinking. Subtle red fruit with some spices.
