Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore Gaglioppo

Simple and great. Long, silky, crisp.

Mmm... blood orange and stewed apricots. Full bodied and full of thyme and roses. Perfect summer grilling wine for steak and veggies.

Warm, lightly extracted red fruits, medicinal herb aromas, briny finish, and good acidity.

I love this bottle. This is what most Italian wine used to be about. Now you have to venture south into Calabria. Sturdy, enjoyable wine - 100% Gaglioppo - a stewed fruit/dried fruit note, ripe fruit, maybe bramble. Spicy, full on palate, long aftertaste. All for less than $20. Points for cost/benefit ratio.

Nice bottle W pizza, picked up @ Milo and Olive

Light garnet, ripe blueberry-black plum nose with oil-cured olives, bright, fleshy palate follows through the nose, moderate acidity, light dusty tannins

Lots of wet stones, dried blueberry, and a little anise. Tannin for days.

Gaglioppo is new to me. May be better with red sauce pastas instead of steak.

Multobueno Park St. Think this the right one recommended by the waiter, very fruity easy drinking red.

Like a berry salad with a sour melon candy finish. A little stout but still totally summery.
