Abruzzo Pecorino

I don’t love the label but…!

Salty. Squishy citrus, lemon curd. Great acidity.
Kind of Burgundian.

Enticing lemon, grapefruit aromas with touch of almond. Slightly sweeter on the finish than expected with pink grapefruit carrying through. A touch short and difficult to match to food - aromatically too bitter for fragrant spice but finish-wise too sweet for fish etc.

My kids' favorite chicken dish. Chx piccata. 2013 Contesa Pecorino from Abruzzo works for a weeknight #wine.

Broad, textured and with great cheesey nuance. Solid backbone of acidity lends great structure. Pepe-esque for a lot less.

Brine, sea salt, lemon curd, hints of almond. Worked nicely in and paired with a shrimp pasta dish. Could be more harmonious but a good value.
