San Luigi Dolcetto di Dogliani

Fruit up front, acid on the back end. Very food-friendly wine

100% Dolcetto. Bright ruby red color. Aromas and flavors of ripe strawberry and black cherry, plums, red and purple flowers as well as sweet spices. Earthy, spicy and nutty notes on the finish. Mouth watering acidity and very light (barely noticeable) tannins. Fruit forward, simple and basic. Solid.

これぞドルチェットという香り。
去年に比べたら香りが強い気がする。
しかし、果実味と酸とのバランスやまとまり感はさすがで、キッシュともよく合った。

ドルチェットって、水っぽく独特の香りがあって、あんまり良い印象なかったのたが…
こちらは、滑らかでピントがパシッ決まっていて綺麗。少し塩味も。
2日目は甘みが出てきて、力強さが少し出たけど、バイオレット系の華やかさも出てきて、これはこれで良し。

Not much to get excited about here. Rather thin and lacking character. At $20, it’s not a rip-off but for me, it’s closer to a house wine served in a carafe then a by the glass or bottle selection.

Honest representation but nothing notable.

Like this producer quite a bit. This was a very food friendly wine. Bright with ton of acidity, I think you could almost pair this with anything and have it show well.

The bird is the word.

Opened up nicely. Paired well with most of the meal which was their family style dinner which is every Monday.
