Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, 14.5%. Brilliant nice color. Alcoholic nose, scents of green leaves, white peppercorns, cloves, gamey too. A little dried flowers, and withered violets. Intense in the mouth, tannic, young, a bit dusty. Going back to the glass after a while it smells discordant and animal. 86/100

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2009, 14.5%. Grapes from old vineyard, aged for 3.5 years in oak barrels. Nose not too intense: small red fruits, minerals, graphite, dried flowers. Very round in the mouth, good acidity. Too young right now, good potentials, to be drank in few years. 82/100

Bright fruit, vanilla and a little smoke builds tremendously to develop into fuller expressions after 20 minutes. A full throated Brunello - full and elegant. Super enjoyable.

2009. Possibly early to open but typical of good Brunello- some tartness, cherry, soft leather, long finish.

Overpowered by alcohol and menthol. Maybe not enough air or time open. Dark fruit smothered.
