So unique, so rare. Equally thick, concentrated and complex.
What a privilege to savour this elixir.
Dark nuances of dried fruit (dates, raisins), mocha, spicebox, orange marmelade, earlgrey tea and honeysuckle.
Endless finish....
Heartwarming and humbling...
A wine for contemplation.

2nd of 2 delectable dessert wines on our last night in Venice (and Italy).

Mar 31st, 2016Unique cloudy colour in the glass, mixing gold, copper, amber and hints of ruby. Very delicate nose giving way to hints of honeyed pecans, blonde tobacco, peat, orange zest and all kinds of dried fruits. In the mouth this doesn't have the motoroil-thickness it showes in the 90s; it's much more elegant...
I was blown away by its magical midpalate (figs, morello cherry, mandarin and sandalwood), awesome spiciness, perfect sweet and sour balance and endless cappuccino-milkchocolate-salty caramel infused finish. Absolutely magnificent...! And in my top 5 of 2015.
