Soft notes of oak and vanilla on the nose. Palete is soft and rich. Plums and ripe figs present. Nice linear, pristine finish. Age will be its friend.

Dec 14th, 2023Only made in the “best years” with 18 months in large casks with only 15% French Oak. Dark garnet color and rich with potential for aging. A touch harsh at the moment but should be great in 5-10 years. Earthy leather but still hints of cherry.

Grand Annate 2015. Best years of Sangiovese from the best parts of the best vineyards. 4 in 2015. Brownish ruby coloration. Dark berry, balsamic, minerals, vanilla, strawberry, and distinctive terroir that the other montepulcianos seemed to have. On the palate, rich and full bodied, sweet plum, espresso and cocoa powder on a long finish. One of the best 100% Sangiovese wines I’ve ever had.

Last night. Brought back from winery. 2 more bottles. Definitely top 2 or 3 of night and better than 1-2 of brunellos. Outstanding. Great fruit soft integrated tannins long length. Many steps above their always good and consistent basic vino nobile. Keep other bottles for at least 5 years drink over in 3.
