Slight oxidation on the nose, evidenced by some port cella ring in the cork, however it still holds it own - on the palate it is well balanced between the wood and fruit - tannins are open and ready to drink - if storage had been better it would be interesting to have seen what this was like.
But I enjoy it never-the-less and looking forward to having it with my veal chop :)

Huge wine that has somewhat softened since release. Dark cherry, currant, spice, Camel light, and blackberry. Pretty good this evening.

Super Tuscan. Super full. Some dark fruit but mostly smooth mineral. Light acid.

50 Merlot 50 Sangiovese

Deep, opaque ruby. Compact rim.

Aromas of sun-dried tomato, plum, black pepper, red clay, toasted oak.

The palate is soft and relatively well resolved. Relatively low acid. Creamy and round. Sweet red cherry, raspberry, dry prune. New leather, slight hint of tobacco leaf, graphite, and toasted new oak.

This wine screams super Tuscan. Leaning modern style but nothing wrong with that as long as it hits the right balance. Because of the low acidic structure, drink this within the next 5 years. 90.

We drank this at the vineyard today. Nose is full of medium to dark fruits. Full and round in the mouth that creates more moisture on its own. I love wines that drink like this.
