Tonight we have opened the 2017 Au Bon Climat Santa Maria Valley Knox Alexander Pinot Noir.
On the nose there is strawberry, cranberry, cherry, spice, mushroom, cola, lavender, forest floor and earth.
On the palate there is strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, cherry, spice, red currant, smokey oak, forest floor and earth.
This is a medium bodied wine with a plush mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium fine polished tannins that lead to a long red fruit earthy finish. 14’ Au Bon Climat Knox Alexander Pinot Noir. Decant this for 15 minutes. Cherry & raspberry subtle dryness with the background of light /modest spices & tea. Beautiful balance after a short time in the decanter. Just a great showing of this PN wine. Open this now...enjoy over the next 5 +years. WOW., time will only bring out it’s best . Jim , still is making exceptional wine for the money! Cheers.

Juicy ripe red and black cherry, plummy. Clove vanilla hint of oak well integrated. Concentration of fruit can handle well the oak. Start showing tertiary character: earthy liquorice. Really polished wine, clean medium finish.

Brilliant transparent ruby. Beautiful nose with strawberries and roses. Refined and complex, with velvety tannin, great purity of fruit and wonderful balancing acidity. Wow ! 2012 vintage. Abv. 13,5%.
