Apr 12th, 2022A yummy, toasty Chardonnay. It’s an ideal white wine for winter.

Jun 2nd, 2019This is a damn fine Chardonnay. It’s got that touch of austerity that I truly enjoy along with orchard and a touch of tropical fruits. Oak isn’t overdone and the grape shines through. More like this, please, erryone else.

Mar 28th, 2019Very very nice—more on the crisp and zesty vs rich and oaky side of the spectrum with nice creamy lemon lime and orchard fruit

Dec 6th, 2018Second and last of the blind white wines for our South African blind tasting. Relatively new to the US-DC market and brought in by Alyssa and Ian Red Wolf Imports. Made up of 100% Chardonnay, 100% barrel fermented and aged for nine to ten months in around 20% new French oak.
Medium yellow with a touch of oak and butter on the nose. A little bit of citrus too. Medium plus acidity (6.5/10) and rounded with a medium body. A creamy texture and mouthfeel throughout with notes of lemon zest, a touch of stone fruits and minerality. Needed to warm and some time in order to open up and lengthen. Medium plus to long finish. Would be very interesting to try with a couple years in the bottle. Drink till 2026. (92+)

2014: lovely delicacy, and harmony on the nose. Lightly creamy, floral, gentle Apple. Very elegant, harmonious style, with a lightly savoury finish (right on the end) good fruit, not an amazingly complex style, but very well poised.

May 29th, 2015With a few more years of vine age, will be one of the best chards in SA. Kevin Grant, doing it right.
