A second tasting of this Rioja after a 2 year gap. While I thoroughly enjoyed it last time I've nudged my score up just a touch as it was even better than I remembered. Maybe the extra time in bottle has helped or it was the hour in the decanter, or perhaps a bit of both. The tannins felt much smoother this time so this is one which benefits from some patience while it opens up over a couple of hours.

While there was nothing wrong with this bruiser, it just wasn't my thing. A lot of others would have rated this higher. Opened up to a lot of wood but some fruit and graphite showed after 30 mins. Be interesting to see this in 5 years.
