El Carretil Single Vineyard Rioja Alavesa Tempranillo

Brilliance in a glass. A Spanish wine which is so contemporary. Notes of fig paste, tobacco, balsamic vinegar and sandalwood on the nose and palate. Tannins need a little more time, but this is excellent already. Finishes with granite and iron. Awesome WNH virtual tasting.

Nose of black tea and cassis. Palate silky smooth and balanced...high pedigree wine through and through. Went excellently with wood grilled wagyu. Massive recommendation!

This bottle was left over already opened from our event Rencontres Internationales Vignerons last Thursday. Still terrific!

Really juicy Rioja from top producer Artadi in a fantastic year. A lot of red fruit, silk and smooth, some herbs and earth! Also smoke and minerality. It’s drinking really great, but has not the power and backbone of an El Pison.

First experience with this wine, its a bit closed in the nose but with some time it reveals some earth notes. Drinking I taste well integrated wood, silky tannins. A big wine in the background
