Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

A lot of blue fruit really enjoyable

The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino shows dusty black cherry, complemented by sweet spices and herbs, as hints of dried orange, leather and dusty earth that forward. On the palate, I find velvety textures, ushering in ripe red and black fruits; yet there’s a wonderful balance here, as the wine is lifted by brisk acids, and a mix of savory, spice and minerals notes. The finish is long and structured, buzzing with mouthwatering acid and spice, as dried cherry lingers amidst a coating of youthful tannin. The 2015 Argiano is just a baby, slowly shaking off the wood it was aged in, and it is perfectly balanced. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2020)

Bright red. Nuanced aromas of red berries, flowers and herbs, plus a hint of iron. Flinty in the mouth too, with a loamy element further complicating red cherry and berry flavors. Closes with nice persistence and repeating floral flavors. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, April 2020)

Rich ruby color with aromas of plum, cherry, and cocoa. On the bud, it’s a bit of strawberry with a great smoothness.

Brunello that fights above it's weight

2015. Color is garnet. Aromas of leather and red fruit. Light body with moderate arms. Tons of flavor: silky smooth and dry initially, then tart fruit with moderate tannins. Long finish. Hints of spice like cinnamon and clove.

Excellent Brunello with dominating rustic flavors of oak, tobacco, leather, earth and delicate red ripe fruit of bright cherry and raspberry. So easy to enjoy…

Black cherry, very good. Bought at Mitsukoshi for ¥6,800.

Very nice bright red berries, if not cherries, with a long life to come. Structured, long finish and delightful with sip charging from glass from the very start.

Just perfect Brunello. This wine is full of earth, balsamic, and an acidic finish, and went well with my Italian dinner. The 2015 is drinking perfectly now.
