Abbott Claim Pinot Noir
This is drinking beautifully at the moment. Nose is showing cola and intense cherry sap, along with moist underbrush and gravelly scents. Some sweet graham cracker spice. Velvety textured, it shows more stony minerality on the palate than the nose, but with nicely concentrated, crisp, ripe cherry fruit as well. Terrific wine.

Feb 27th, 2024Warm and a bit spicy with red fruits and a fleshy texture. Good with both Thanksgiving leftovers and black beans and rice. This is not very complex but not overblown either.

Nov 28th, 2022This 375 was a little funky at first but cleaned up a bit after 45 minutes or so. Burgundian nose features limestony gravelly notes, brambly underbrush, and dark cherry. In the mouth it’s a bit tight, with vibrant acids, but underneath that potential energy there’s dark cherry fruit and a pungently savory note. It keeps changing its nose and taste with every sniff and sip it seems. Fun, but hard to keep up with. And hard to tell where it’s going.

Jun 25th, 2021Good, tasty, rich. Not showing much complexity or soil signature, maybe a bit generic/'new world'?

Feb 1st, 2021Bruins win and this Pinot is a winner too. Beautiful nose of dark, sweet plum-tinged cherry, graham cracker, and rich moist gravel. Delicate in weight yet with intense flavors, it’s got nice acids and gossamer tannins. Long finish. Nice job!

Mar 11th, 2020Smells of blackberry bramble - a classic nose, notifies me this will be a good Pinot.
Alpine strawberry, lingonberry, a hint of coriander and tangelo zest. Light to medium bodied, a fully expressive Pinot that roars about what it is is, and purrs when you notice.
