Yamhill Carlton, Willamette Valley

Love and Squalor

Wings of Desire Field Blend 2014

Last bottle, fair to call this a white blend, maybe even an orange wine. Light pumpkin orange in color, excellent clarity. Floral and sulfite notes in nose initially. Stone fruit flavors - apricot, ripe peach - plus spice (wood? white pepper?) and a touch of vanilla with moderate skin astringency and lemon-orange flavor in finish. Love this winery and what they do — 16 days ago

The Kilmore Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2014

A great wine from what I consider to be a very underrated producer. Peppery Black Cherry, Blackberry, Root Beer, Black Licorice notes on the silky mid-pallet. The buttery finish shows notes of chocolate, almonds and violets. This wine is extremely complex. A BIG brawny and brambly Pinot that is made from three different Pinot Noir clones. Outstanding! — 20 days ago

Beaux Frères

Yamhill-Carlton Chardonnay 2012

Splendid. Criticism of “butter bomb” is highly misplaced. This wine, 2012, has aged perfectly and the palette exudes the roundness and refinement for a great French Chardonnay!!!!!!!! — 15 days ago

Un Oeuf Melon de Bourgogne

More pear and melon notes than your regular muscadet! A little more generous through the palate too. 🧂 🍈 — 25 days ago

Yamhill Carlton Lazy River Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Rolling cooked red and black cherries and rose petals on the tongue. Soft and well balanced. Barnyard nose. Easy finish — 16 days ago

This was my favorite as well as the Chardonnay from the same vineyard.

Cuvée A Müller-Thurgau

Really cool; medium bodied and viscous with nice acidity; well spiced spicy orchard fruit with a steely edge. 1st domestic Muller I think? — 9 days ago
