Popped and poured. The 2012 Two Blondes pours a deep ruby with an an opaque core and fine sediment which clings to the glass. On the nose the wine is full of tobacco, pencil shavings, cassis, purple flowers, and baking spices. On the palate, I’m getting plums, black cherry, cassis, tobacco, and again, more baking spice. The finish is long and satisfying; dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Air helped and I suspect a 30-60 minute decant would be ideal. A lovely wine.

Deep purple, pink rim, pencil shaving, tobacco, red plum, black and blue fruits too. French oak. Elevated acidity, med+ tannin, full body. Lush velvety fruit textured in the mid palate pointed to Merlot so I called it a Napa Merlot.

Have a look at my notes on the Champoux, here is same level albeit different blend with more merlot if I understood it correctly. Really good stuff. Would be probably better with 3 to 5 more years.

Nice wine with decent depth. Toned down which was nice with black cherry fruit. Good everyday wine but not too many distinguishing characteristics.
