Loibner Steinertal Smaragd Grüner Veltliner

2006 vintage. Served blind; this wine comes from a vintage that never appealed to me, due its richness, botrytis spice and lowish acidity. This one does suffer from the above, but still proved me wrong, generally speaking.

More and more seduced by the clean style of the Wachau. Mind-blowing Steinertal.

Started a bit shy but then an explosion of white flowers. Very balanced with beautiful acidity. Glad that I got a bunch because this has a long runway.

If you think Grutner is all vegetal and lentils flatfooted plodding, you need to taste this wine. Dancing, lithe, feminine, ethereal, digs her nails into your sides and makes you pledge impossible oaths. High acid, medium+ bodied and brilliant.

Ansolutely delicious, complex white wine.
