It's been about 10 years since I last tasted this, this is the 12/06 disgorgement and while the bead is barely detectable, the sap has remained, so what you have is a very vinous, juicy champagne that needs more time for the sweetness to taper off. The nose is pronounced intoxicating white truffles, sherry and agrumes, with some anise that I get from Beaufort. For now i say hold. — 8 years ago
Barnyard and ripe summer berries on the transporting nose! Palate is spritzy and fruity, quaffable and pleasant with food. — 8 years ago
Mature notes still absent, this was fresh citrus and mineral core that should become more interesting, as the body, though lithe, is substantial enough. Would be a great shellfish platter wine — 8 years ago
Slightly spritzy on opening. A bit hot at 13.5 and didn't really fare well with anything but the cotechino and lentils. It's a big wine, broad shouldered riesling but still has some foresty notes and citrus fruits. — 8 years ago
I love the nose on this, it has a foresty wintergreen, bubbling brook of minerality but also a kind of telltale lentily savory note that tells me it's Austrian rather than German riesling. The palate definitely screams Austrian. 13.5%, this is really too full bodied and hot to serve until the end of a meal. Not a wine to bring to a tasting menu. But you will be intoxicated by the nose, ideal for a winter eve by the fire. Especially if you're cold! — 8 years ago
Wow. It's like a sea spray of white truffle and citrus. Nose has you swooning, palate is iodine and butter and citrus and wet stones. Blew us away and the whole tasting menu is composed with a wine of this profile foremost in mind. — 8 years ago
Some linear pencil shaving minerality on this, medium bodied with cherry notes but still tight and not giving yet, wait 5 years for the tannins to integrate — 8 years ago
What a find, my first time to taste this producer but won't be my last. Surprised to find wood was used on this but it wasn't really detected except on the rich palate. Dense mineral core, soft luxurious mouthfeel and some green apple and tropical fruit. A great GG — 8 years ago
This isn't the rosé, it's the chenin blanc. The nose is honeysuckle, bobbing-for-apples, no botrytis notes detected. Medium bodied, nice finish but it's a bit monolithic on the apple-dominated finish. — 8 years ago

Ripe fruit as expected but the tannins are fine grained and it's starting to show some mature notes. Even in 2003 this is not as flat footed as Cali Cab, and it paired well with rack of lamb. — 8 years ago
