A bit disappointing, closed. Still had some fruit, good acidity, moderate tannin. Wondering if the shipment of the wine knocks some energy out of it. Can’t nail the timing on when to open Brunello and barolo since leaving Italy.

Nov 29th, 2020Cherry, orange peel. Went very well with a huge pork chop. Little hints of tobacco and earth. Nice wine for a very hot day in Michigan.

Jul 3rd, 2020Very dry with somewhat hard tannins but without enough fruit to pull it through. Nice body and structure. Well made. I don’t think it will improve with age but it won’t fall apart for years

Apr 16th, 2020This vintage was much better by comparison, but I may have let it decant too long. It was decanted for about 6 hours, and it just tasted like it was in a slump. Not as good as another of the same bottle I had a few months ago with minimal decanting. Lesson learned.

Mar 3rd, 2020Took a while to open up and the fruit to show. Blueberries, some forest floor. Good acid. Straddles the line between traditional and modern brunello.
