Christos Anesti! Very good northern Greece wine. Almost CdP like if to compare

Some modern winemaking here, but not too much.

Changing a lot. Firstly, Nebbiolo & PN, then Merlot. Medicine like spiciness. Ecosystem Xinomavro Reserve VV “BARBA YANNIS 13 @5300, Academy D JH, 240127-240209

Xinomavro made from a single block on the Amyndeon plateau 647 m above sea level. Amyndeon is from my understanding cooler than the more recognised Naoussa region close by. Some modern winemaking practises here like cold soaking has resulted in an extracted wine with a medium body and a less tannic finish. Nice spicy aromatics, expressive midpalate and a medium long finish.

Bitter roasted walnuts and raspberry jam on both the nose and the palette, just so beautiful

Excellent, reminiscent of some of my favorite Italian wines, great acidity and tannin structure

Good Xinomavro but nothing special despite its high price. This wine needs at least a one-hour decant before consuming. It has an excellent, fragrant nose but the plum flavor is quite muted. Good with lamb souvlaki but there are better wines at half the price.

Slight tomato with mild red fruit (waiter said plum but I’m still searching for that) with earth tones and musty flavors. Reminds of a Nebbiolo, but a bit lighter. Enjoying this with our Greek meal.
