I tend to agree with my buddy Matt Kramer who maintains that the single most reliably tasty wine in the world is New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. What that means to me is if you buy a bottle for $15 - $25 you almost always are going to get something that a) tastes like you expect it to and b) is delicious (assuming you like the way that NZ Savvy tastes). This here bottle is no exception to that rule with its passionfruit, green apple, and cut grass aromas and more of the same delicious green fruit flavors on the palate. The finish is all kiwi fruit and green apple and the acidity bright and mouthwatering. This was a press sample.

Sunday night the day after the 4th of July and we have been in a little bit of 90Β° weather and I a bit refreshing. I have decided to go to the lovely Sauvignon Blanc of New Zealand. I have opened the 2019 Allen Scott Family Winemakers Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough.

On the nose are beautiful fruit notes of peach, grapefruit, nectarine and minerality.

On the palate there is lime, grapefruit, passionfruit, nectarine and a nice minerality.

This wine is medium bodied that has a bright medium + acidity that leads right into a long crisp long fresh finish. I hope everyone's holiday weekend was an enjoyable one? I wish everyone a healthy and safe beginning to the week ahead. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Pyrazine, fresh mango, passion fruit, chalk or limestone. Medium body, highly acidic. Fresh and lively.

Like many SBs from New Zealand. You can't go wrong. And you have to love the year. 2020. Lol πŸ˜“

Peaches, sweet pear floral in the nose. Acid on the first sip but quickly goes away with fruity finish. Perfect chilled and in warm day. Excellent value.

Pears and green apples w racy lime and yellow grapefruit citrus, maybe a dash of apricot. It’s everything Marlborough sav is supposed to be. Nice layers and crisp acidity. Their reserve stuff is special but this is great.

Tonight's wine I have opened another Sauvignon Blanc, the 2018 Allan Scott Family Winemakers Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand.

The nose shows expressions of peach, tangerine, grapefruit, guava, lemongrass and minerality.

On the palate the nose is confirmed with grapefruit, tangerine, white peach, orange peel, peach skin and nice mineral notes.

The wine is medium bodied with high acidity that leads to a long clean crisp fruit finish. These New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs really have a lot to offer and I will be drinking more in the coming months. I will also try more Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Alsace Sauvignon Blanc's to try and round out my experiences. We can look forward to the weekend full of family and friendship. Have a plan and be safe. Nostrovia! πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚

This would be better with a touch more acidity.
