Albino Rocca
Montersino Barbaresco
Barbaresco, Cuneo, Piedmont, Italy
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2020 from the Montersino MGA in Trieso pours a brilliant garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, exotic spices and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Delicious pairing with mushroom farrotto. Drink now through 2040.

A red fruit profile and a real vibrancy. Paired beautifully with Thanksgiving dinner (leftovers).

Dec 6th, 2020Sweet red cherries and some green. Good for drinking now but worth cellaring for a few more. Ruby, medium (-). More approachable than the Ronchi but not as structured.
