Top Notes For
"Odedi"

Reddish/ purplish in color with medium intensity.

Nose of black currants, fresh cherries, light oak, barnyard and light blood notes.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, currants, plums, light oak, spices, dark chocolates, earth, light vegetables, bitter herbs and peppercorn.

Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very interesting Syrah from Williamette Valley in Oregon. Feels like a new world Syrah with a Northern Rhone touch.

This Single Vineyard Syrah is nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and entertaining.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. Paired very nicely with my charcuterie board, especially with the Italian salami.

100% Syrah grapes were aged in (25% new) French Oak barrels for 14 months. A small production of only 2,200 bottles.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$55.

Oregon Syrah? Surprisingly tasty! Floral & very high acid. Thanks @djbocce!

Sappy yet still pure. Olives, lightly peppered; chalky and acidic. Very juicy and long. If only it could finish a touch more dry. Easy to like, in a good way.

Last of 4 bottles. All with depressed corks and showing immediate signs of oxidation. This bottle came out of the oxidative phase after being open for a bit and showed dark raspberry fruit with overwhelming white pepper. Reminded me of Crozes or Saint Joseph. Very much surprised after the other bottles.

Tart cherries, Coca Cola, and pretty musky. Pretty acidic (but I did not have time to recant this, which may be part of the problem). Not bad at all, but not my favorite Adelsheim.

Meh. Not bad but not much there. Last vintage apparently since they've regrafted the vines to pinot.
