2007 Planeta Santa Cecilia. Nero d’Avola from Noto in the far south of Sicily. Ruby red in colour, the black fruits have matured well. Deep and full in the mouth, herbs, leather, some tobacco and a pleasant chocolate lingering on the long finish. Really enjoyed this wine.

2007 Orma Toscana from Tenuta Sette Ponti. Bordeaux blend from Tuscany. 40% Cab Franc 20% Cab Sauv 40% Merlot. The wine spent 12 months in French bariques and another 12 in the bottle. Dark berries, spice, with hints of Licorice and chocolate. Well integrated tannins and a nice full finish.
