Low acidity vintage made this bottle show bulkier than ideal. Not light on it's feet at the moment. Mosel Fine Wines Issue #40 from April 2018 seems to think 2011 wines need a decade to integrate sweetness and gain in harmony. My sense is that assessment is a bit ambitious, but will hold some in order to experience any upside.

Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2013

It ranked #40 on the Wine Spectator 2016 Top 100 list, I can see why is on the WS list so rich and sumptuous, with balanced structure and plenty of red berries. www.hitimewine.net — 7 years ago

What are your thoughts on drinking window? When should we approach it?

@Lundmark Kvarnstrom I think you are asking the wrong guy 'cause as soon as a bottle lands in my hands I'll try to open it(just kidding). I had cellared a few Ducru-Beaucaillou and Yon Figeac in the past(for 10 years) but I usually buy wines that I can drink now, and based on the other reviews about this wine and my recent tasting of it I will say that 3 or 4 years will be fine but it can improve with some cellaring.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild

Mouton Rothschild For Philippine Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

I have had the pleasure of experiencing this vintage a few time and found this time delivered just like the past. Decanted four hours and drank over the next 4+ hours. Classic Bordeaux on the nose with no sings of age. Could this be a 50+ year wine? Red fruit with truffle and Asian spice on the palate. Tannins and acid are nearly perfect with an lingering finish that sails for over a minute. What I find so intriguing is the wine only got better as time went one. Stellar! — 5 years ago
