This Monsieur Étain from Scarecrow and Celia Welch is an outstanding Cabernet. Expressive, intense flavors of cassis dominate this wine following by smooth undertones of wild flower and dare I say some incense coming off the nose. The finish is beautifully long, silky, and expressive. May be a bit young now, but I'm loving it! Happy Mother's Day to you and yours. Cheers 🍷 — 7 years ago
Inky, dark, red cherry color. Sweet tobacco, gentlemen's musk, white, creamy floral on the nose. The palette is smooth, velvet, with very subtle layers. I can see why some reviews have mentioned that it seems flat. It doesn't have tannic layers. This wine is super elegant, non-pretentious and easy to drink alone or with non-complex dishes. Could easily age another 10+ years but what's the fun in that!! Drink now! — 7 years ago
Sublime sophistication, Raveneau's 2011 Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre shows its pedigree with complex aromas of roasted pear, earth, hazelnut, iodine, and smoke. The influence of Kimmeridgian soils is evident on the palate, one that is both expansive and neatly tailored, swathed in stone fruit and lemon curd tightly bound by a mineral spine. The finish is intense, meandering and tipped in fleur de sel and dried herbs, especially tarragon. — 7 years ago

Tight and dominated by VA at the beginning. Blossomed with time in the glass. Tart cherries emerged. White pepper and minerality. Tannins integrated with time. — 7 years ago
