Not sure if it was the birth of our son or this bottle, but this was smoking good with deeper complexity than LBT of 167 ème. Classic Krug balance of rich and oxidative character with bright acidity and some reductive elements. Seems to display all at once beautifully.

Much more restrained than N.V. Krug I have had in the past. Opens up nicely over time and was a majestic bottle as per usual.

Last night’s “Evening With Krug” event, where they officially released their 2006 vintage. Beautiful evening with many different Krug offerings paired with a delicious meal.

This is now my second time having the 167 in the last two months, and my impression is consistent. This has a base of the 2011 vintage, and seems to show the coldness of that vintage as this is quite light...doesn’t flex Krug’s powerful and rich profile. Stone fruits, wet rock, chalky limestone and yeast picking up the longer it’s in the glass. Very balanced and down the middle.

Fried chickie and Krug. Life is good! Classic house style but this cuvée seemed to have a touch more floral and fruit layers to its already considerable array of flavors and aromas. As always the most impressive trait is how so much expanse and depth can be so fine and detailed with its acidity. 47 PN 36 CH 17 MEU

Very bright and vigorous. Lemon and tart minerality. Very pretty and bracing. Not huge weight. With time in glass whiffs of oyster shells and salinity. Very young still, but real promise

2011 base. Very much in the house style but if I had to nitpick this would be a person who is 5-6 pounds overweight
