Spicy and fruity throughout, with an expressive nose full of smoked meat and grilled herbs. In the mouth, there’s solid structure and notes of blackberry, along with more savory flavors of black olive and tomato. At midpalate comes an underlying tobacco note, followed by the dry, spicy finish. Feeling of chalk and clay on the palate. This is the kind of value that Chinon should be more famous for. Superb expression of Cabernet-Franc in a very natural style with little or no added sulphites. All in fruit (red). Magnificent in consistency and roundness. So greedy. To drink from the aperitif. Super price / pleasure ratio

Half bottle. Medium purple color. Extremely green nose as this is very young. Nice depth, but minimal fruit. Paired nicely with tacos. Lovely texture. Medium minus finish.

May 6th, 2020Was recommended this wine by Paul at Concetta. Dark Purple with a slight fruity taste when I initially opened it. After a hour or so of decanting more earth showed then the fruit. Blackberries, hint of raspberry, and a spice that overpowered it just a little. Got this bottle for $22 so it wasn't a bad price at all. Would buy again!
