Following up wine with the good friends (who are becoming my best friends if they keep this up). This time from the north end of Napa Valley, which always confuses me how the north end is warmer than the south end of the valley. (Bay breezes). Famous winery with historic past does not disappoint with their deep purple, dark blueberry and soft tannin wine.

Very good cab from magnum at winery. It’s smooth bodied and pretty easy to drink now after popping the cork. It did not strike me as something that will age for a long while. I guess I was hoping for more structure and evolution over lunch.

Smells of true Napa. Nice fruit forward, smooth going down, nice (light) amount of tannins for us. Silky. Special dinner night with the fam before my big man goes back to school.
