My first Melon from outside Muscadet, and it didn’t disappoint!

This Melon is a stunning find for California. Fresh, and acid driven with a beautiful citrus and pear fruit balance. Minerality, borderline austerity, yet finishes smooth without giving up the assertive edge.

I have to say, this is the first time I've had wines from this producer, and Melon from Cali. I would have guessed this to be from France, and possibly as muscadet in blind tasting. Incredibly floral and beautiful focused acidity, with a spritz feel at the tip of the tongue. Classic Melon flavors though, little green melon, white pear, flint mineral, lemon peel, and a touch of light cream to the mid pallet. As the label suggests, it would be absolutely perfect with freshly harvested oysters. Raw, no additives - that's what this wine is about. What a pure, simple wine this is..I'd be interested in their take on the other old world varietals they produce such as their gamay and malbec!

Soft minerals. Round in the mouth, some grassiness/grain. Good!
