Much more stone-ground and mineral driven than previous vintages of this from my memory. This wine starts off with limestone and honeydew melon. More acidic. Not very rounded and perhaps a touch out of balance. However, this wine has a complexity that will continue to improve as the years go on. I definitely attribute this lack of balance to the youth of this wine.

Lemon and oak nose. Vanilla and citrus on the palate with a buttery smooth texture. A clean acid finish. This is a classic Napa chard.

May 19th, 2018Drinking the 2016 in 2018. Clear golden color. Long lasting legs. Bouquet is rich with apple and honeysuckle. Very smooth crisp flavor for a young wine. Hints of pears, apple and oak. Very nice wine for a light meal or summer afternoon.
