My favorite of the first event of Effervescence LA ! In the meantime if I could even just smell this wine I’d consider it a treat. It is the most perfect delicate biscuit with just a dash of lemon curd. An elegant alcoholic tea party treat. I am ruined. I’ll dream of this until I taste it again. Thank you @Delectable Wine for sending me and stay tuned for a column with more bubbly details.

Buttered toast, baked croissant, ripe apple and pear, baking spice. M+ acid, m body, and long finish. Saline and minerality on the palate. Delicate, complex and classy.

A Valentines Day tipple with the missus and what a beautiful Champagne it was. Pale Lemon in colour with an ultra fine persistent bead. Aromas of sweet citrus, Nougat, mineral, toast, honey and stone fruit which transfer through to the palate. Needless to say marvellous complexity in this 100% Chardonnay. Fermented in stainless steel and given a full malolactic fermentation. Dosage 4.5 grams per Litre. Disgorged October 2016. One of the 1001 wines and a wonderful treat from Champagne’s oldest firm. Made entirely from Chardonnay Grand Crus.

From a magnum - Tasty pear and brioche. Small bubbles make for a refined and very smooth wine. My wife liked it better than me but I still thought it was very good.

I really liked the crisp, clean, minerally aspects of this wine. Excellent.

Very nice baking spice and bread expression with darker fruit. Acid and minerality on point. But the floral weirdness detracted. Typical DR though I believe

When first poured has a good nose of white flowers and delicate sweet citrus notes.
Something about the first sip reminded me of Lemon heads 😝 a silly reference
