Napa Valley Merlot

Nice merlot. Needs to be drunk sooner rather than later. 14 and 15 vintages are better. We are partial to this, but not quite this vintage.

Very ripe. Very dark. Very oaky.

This is lovely and juicy and full and dark, but very tasty, especially with slow food beef shank. The nose has a beautiful rose that transfers to the palate with dark inky blackberry and blueberry. There’s a bit of elderberry and leather as well with some tree bark. Tannins are holding on, but lush. Yum. Drinking very well right now.

Very nice and easy to drink. On the sweeter side sort of like Caymus.

Back in 2013 the No. 1 song was Macklemore's Thrift Shop. Also, that's the vintage of this Caymus' other brand's Merlot. Aside from the aforementioned facts I have layed out for you, this is a wine more pleasing to the palate than mom's spaghetti.

A mouthful up front with a creamy texture. Bottle, label, Wagner name so quality you expect from this family and Caymus they make.

Good red

2013. Great Merlot from Jennie Wagner from Caymus Wagner family. Closer to a cab than a Merlot. Fruity and full bodied. Smooth yet slightly intense. Got from Jason for $25. Normally in 40's. Probably favorite Merlot
