Aged nose of sour cherry-drenched stems, dusty red fruit. This has cellared beautifully, Margaux-like but for the unmistakable dark red cherry and leather, lifted and layered, intense but restrained. Pure. Really needed 45 mins to sort out in decanter. Sublime, peaking but will sustain for a while.

Fuck yea! Femine, elegant, incredibly graceful in its texture and perfume. Dried violets, potpourri, crushed cherry, dusty earth, cracked pepper, beef blood and leather, menthol. So pure and ethereal. Silky tannin and vivacious acid, does not show its age at all at 14 years!

The 04 Flaccianello was disappointing. Medium purple with bright edges and a very dark, brooding nose. Even after all this time in bottle, it was overwhelmed with bracing/drying tannins and acidity, with almost no fruit showing through.
