Comfort food. Great structure and fruit. After two nights of tasting it didn't open as much as expected... good now but needs a few years as long as the fruit hangs in there.

Quiet beast. On the nose, you think it's going to punch you in the face like a 1999s Mike Tyson jab... once you actually try the wine, it's equivalent to Michaelangelo's sculpture of David: masterpiece. Soft. Velvety. Memorable.

Heavier weight and meaty, juicy but not that interesting.

Sipping Fine Wine

Sourced primarily from hillside terraces of Poetry and Twin Peaks Vineyards. Dark deep red with complex aromas of black fruit, earthy spice and sweet notes. Composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 3% Merlot, the palate shows fruit forward rich dark berry flavors with notes of licorice and cacao, approachable tannins, well balanced. Lingering finish ends with earthy tones. Can age well for another decade.

The 2012 vintage is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, and 3% Merlot. The wine was aged 21 months in 50% new French oak barrels. The wine represents a diverse range of carefully selected clones and rootstocks from vineyards in the Stags Leap District, including the hillside terraces of our Poetry Vineyard, our Twin Peaks Vineyard estate, and a few select neighboring vineyards.

Deep dark berries. Tar and cedar. All fill the nose. Easy right of the bottle but more luxurious after it decanted for a while. Beautiful.
