Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night.
Painfully young. Underripe raspberries, black cherries, charcoal, black tea on the nose. Graphite, blackberries, and underbrush on the palate with a monster tannic finish. Needs so much time. I called this ‘12 Left Bank.

Dark, moist, rich earthiness, dry stones, black berries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum, vanilla, dark red florals & violets.
The body is full. Tannins firm but dusty, Dark currants. Black berries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum, some strawberries, vanilla, dark spice, dark, firm leather, dry brush, tobacco, graphite, red florals & fields of violets.

Darker and more exacted for a typical a LB. Ripe blackberries, dark cherries, big strawberry finish, dusty brown soil, dry stones, leather, steeped tea, coffee grounds, nice acidity and delicious finish.
