Still youthful but so utterly beautiful. Rich and a bit decadent. Retains an edge of something or other that keeps it firmly in Italy. Brilliant bottle

Luxurious and well balanced. Dark plum and cocoa with a mellow earthiness.

Layers of black cassis, ripe plum, maraschino cherries, menthol, graphite and kirsch on the finish. Gorgeous, third day open.

So we enjoyed this side by side with the ’05 Sassicaia. This is a bit more evolved and comes across as an older wine. It’s richer with an inky texture. Dark fruits, pencil lead, coffee, herbs, soy, black olives, chocolate.

Tres long en bouche. Wow!
