2007 Clos Rougeard "Les Poyeux" & grilled Aussie lamb. A intensely not intense #wine. Sweet bliss of memory evoking scents flow from the glass, spinning my mind into a time slip rush of olfactory teleportation, remembering farm life, tilled soil, horses, real pencils made of cedar & graphite, picking blackberries with my grandmother, & rain on hot asphalt shingles. The flavours are less visceral, but none the less emotively pleasing, with savouriness, zippy acidity & life.

What a treat to taste! True Cabernet Franc power with layers of complexity. Beautiful intensely concentrated red color with just a slight brick rim to show a bit of development. Raspberries and blackberries are balanced out with tobacco spice and slight funky earth with slight hints of pepper spice. Very enjoyable!

Sometimes, you look at a bottle that's been in the cellar a while, and you're like, "That can't be as good as I want it to be," and the it is.
